The SimonBart Gallery is delighted to present A Tale of Her, a solo exhibition by Italian artist Mario Matera. The opening will be held on 15th March 2025 at 18:00 at the gallery’s main venue, Piazza Cavour 6/E in Bologna, with the artist in attendance.
Showcasing 25 works from the Golden and Chaos series, the exhibition explores the delicate balance between fragility and resilience, order and chaos, beauty and imperfection.
In this latest body of work, Matera reflects on the essence of womanhood—her ability to endure, heal, and transform adversity into strength. His vision portrays a silent yet unstoppable force, capable of reconstructing and redefining herself through wounds that become sources of renewal.
A Tale of Her is a journey of fragments and reassembly, an invitation to embrace transformation and find power in imperfection—where every fracture holds the potential for rebirth.
During the opening event, a special collaboration with a graphic designer brought an interactive element to the experience. Guests had the opportunity to receive personalized portraits, reimagined in the style of Matera’s works. This initiative not only paid homage to the artist but also transformed attendees into living artworks, blurring the line between observer and masterpiece.
