Beatriz Gerenstein was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She lives and works in Miami, USA.
Gerenstein’s sculptures could be defined by her journey to investigate the daily anxieties of the human being. In such a world we live in, full of wars and selfishness, violence, political cynicism, so much greed and constant threats to the environment, Beatriz Gerenstein has chosen the other side of the coin. Her sculptures talk about the human condition, love, friendship, anguish, pleasure, joy, pain and spirituality.
The strength, beauty and social content of her sculptures have reached the heart of the people. Currently on view at the exhibition “Time Space Existence”, during the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale, is her installation “The Third Partner”, shown at the Giardino della Marinaressa, in Venice. Her installation “The objects of Desire” shown at during the 57th Venice Biennale attracted many enthusiastic viewers and very positive critic. In 2016, she took part in the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale and was the subject of a solo exhibition at National Museum of Art in Havana, Cuba. Her work was exhibited at the 56th Venice Biennale and the 12th Havana Biennale (la Bienal de la Habana) as well as in 2013 in the 9th Florence Biennale.
