Biography
Mario Matera is a multifaceted and visionary artist from Italy, whose creative journey has been defined by constant evolution and a relentless exploration of new expressive frontiers. From a young age, he devoted himself to art, beginning to paint at just 13 years old and soon earning national and international acclaim. His works have been exhibited in prestigious cities such as Venice, Capri, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, and Bangalore.
Matera’s career is marked by an eclectic approach: at 17, he ventured into the fields of illustration and comics before transitioning into graphic design. His experience as a creative director on fashion photography sets eventually led him to discover a profound passion for photography. Over time, he expanded his artistic horizons further, taking on the role of director of photography for commercials and short films.
Alongside his artistic endeavors, Matera shares his expertise as a visual communication teacher at a secondary school specializing in Advertising Graphics. He is currently the creative director and photographer for the MARIO MATERA GROUP, solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in the artistic and creative landscape.
